Twinkle led to the turn, where Tile Saint fell and spoiled Purakan's chance. Teru collared 1 winkle at the distance and won by two lengths. Time, lmm 2-ssec. • Huia Handicap—Roosevelt 1, Maliutu 2, loatuln 3. Also started: Sir Frisco, YVaitapu, Woodhey, liopu, Seaman. Maion., 1 reliability, Silken Rein, l'ohutu, Mallet, Kuawaka, Mataari, Roosevelt began smartly, and at the back was at tended by Mataari and Toatuhi. Pohuta joined the leaders at the bend. Koosevelt continued to lead into the straigat and lasted long enough to win by three parts of a length, a length between second and third. Time, lmin. 47sec. Hack Hurdles.—Rendrock I, Diplomatic 2, Mount Cook 3. Also started: Aauratus', Aotea, Polyanthus, Erl King lokaroa, Chicane. Diplomatic led for a mile, with Rendrock next. The latter drew level at the turn and won comfortably by two lengths. Time, 9min 54 4-ssec.
Stewards' Handicap.—Xorth East 1 Waipuuui 2, Buoyant 3. Also started: Goodwin Park, Mallet, Splash, Sir Possible, Awha, Swallow, Vinco, Celebration, Tethis, Quarry Girl. Buoyant led for six furlongs, where North East took charge and won by a length. Time, lmin. 34sec.
Railway Handicap.—Gipsy Belle 1, Sunbonnet 2,' Simplex 3. Also started: Waikaraka, Overtime and -Nlcotnu:. rviinbonnet and Gipsy Belle drew right out from the field. At the distance nunbonnet was being ridden, but suffered defeat by half a length. Time, lmin. 17sec.
Ohau Welter.—Coronctted 1, Pikipn 2, Gold Bird 3. Also started: Sir Possible, Castiglione, Maggie Paul, Arivorc, Channel. Gold Bird led to the turn, where Pikipo drew level. At the dijtancc Coronetted challenged, and won by a length. Time, lmin. 4!)sce. Final Hack Scurry (weight Bst. 71b).— Waiouru 1, Pukewai 2, Rangikapua 3. Also started: Kennedy, Pikiho, Inverau, La Mansee, Jackmnn, Morec, Succession, Park Lady, Captain Bill, Spontaneous. Won by six lengths. Time, lmin. 5 3-5 sec.
DfXEDIX RACES. SECOND DAY. Dunedin, Last Sight. The Dunedin winter meeting concluded in wet weather. There was a moderate attendance. Eleven ouoamaiiers were licensed, and totalisator investments totalled .CU3U2. The total for tlie meeting showed a decrease of £133 on lust year. Uesults:—
