MATCHES AT WELLINGTON. By Telegrkph.—Press Association, Wellington, Last Xight. In hockey matches to-day, the Wellington Wednesday reps, beat Jlanawatu second- team by 3 to 2. The match between Wellington and Manawatu Saturday reps, was won by Wellington by 4 to 2. The Wesley Club beat Mastertou by 7 to nil. The game was in favor of Wesley all through. The Ma6terton goalkeeper .played well, frequently saving his side. Carterton No. 1 beat Wellington by 7 to nil. The visitors showed good combination. Fisher and Reid scored in the first spell and Fisher (four times) and Tunniolitl'e in tlie second. In a junior game, Metropolitan v. Carterton, the former won by 7 to 4. MATCHES AT WANGANUI. Wanganui, Last Night. Wanganui beat Taihape by 3 to 1, and Wangunui beat Marton l>y 9 to nil. MATCH AT I'ALMERSTOX. Paluierston .Y, Last Night. Tie Masterton W.F.C.A. hockey team 'beat Technical School by two to nil.
NEW PLYMOUTH WEST v. INGLE- ! WOOD A. | New Plymouth West met Inglewood A. on the riiccconrec yesterday. and. after a well-contested game, defeated them liv 3 to 2. The difference ill the score showed the local leiini to ,be slightly ftUperior to their opponent*. Inglewood pressed from the start, but their "attack was quickly replied to bv Welhani placing a well-judged shot between the uprights. Inglewooil retaliated within the next, minute, and Harris found the net from what appealed to be an off-side, position. Jletore halftime sounded Harris placed another goil to the credit of Inglewood. On resuming, New Plymouth livened up to the game. The local 3 played well to the attacking right, Wellram, Dr. Fookes I and Anilrary. This resulted in Welham equalising the score by placing a backhanded t-liot when attacked by Inglewood. New Plymouth resumed the "attack and Price placed the winning score, thus giving Inglewood their first defeat for the season. Air. (johlwatcr held the whistle and had repeatedly to penalise the visitors ior "sticks."
This win now places the two teams level,

Carriugton Road, ou their own ground, played New Plymouth East without the services of E.'Avcry (t'ast's captain), and after u willing game, with plenty of "sticks," defeated the town team bv 5 points. Mr. Mont Avery controlled the game, SOUTHERN COMPETITION. In the southern competition, Stratford defeated llawera i>v 4 points to nil.
