Bates' general weather forecast:—lA westerly area of low pressure is nc* approaching the South Island, and unsettled and stormy weather is probable, particularly south of New Plymouth and Castlepoint. Northerly winds', strong to gale, are probable in Uic South, and'moderate to strong from same direction soon elsewhere. Barometer is falling everywhere, especially in the southern districts, where the lowest is expected on the 3rd instant.
