HAHOTU. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The Kahotu Kiile Club have received excellent nominations f or tlieir prize ■natch to be held on Thursday, June Ml Over 70 entries have conic in. Complete arrangements are being made for the match. ,Au extra target is being fixed, ninkiii" three in all, whilst the telephone f b also being laid on. The second of the series of euchre parties in aid of the Hall took place on Wednesday evening. There was onlv a very fair attendance. The ladies' prize, a silver jam spoon and butter knife, was won by Mrs Eustace witii ten games, and the gentlemen',' prize, a tobacco pouch, by Mr I'. Duggan. .After supper had been partaken of, dancing was indulged in for a short while Mr. Fielder making a capable M.C. ■Mr. S. Sefton, of Warea, has been appointed manager of Mr. T. I'. Hughson's store at Oaonui.

Mr. h. Fischer has pirchased a section on the lower Kahui road and intends building immediately. Football matters are very dead here at present. Kahotu seniors'were unable to get a team away on Saturday, and accordingly forfeited to Opunake. Tne Opunake juniors arrived here snorthanded, and a scratch team consisting of seniors, juniors, and "has been" (including the hoary old veteran and tricky half (Jas. Bennett), was got together to beat them. An interesting, if not scientific game resulted in a win for the scratch team by 3 pts to nil. Mr. A. Coffey made a capable referee.
