At. Stony River on Wednesday the yards were full, and there, was a big . attendance and good competition for all classes, calves sharing in the advance of tliii prerioin Jar at Rahotu. VICKERS & STEVENS' REPORT. There -was a gootTentTy of cattle in \ our J'nglcwood yards on Wednesday lust. Calves made from 10a fld to £1 Is, 18months heiters £1 6s to £1 lis, 18 to 20-months steers £1 13s to XI 17s lid, good store cows £2 'to £2 15s, spring calvcrs £2 20a to £3 ss, ijpriugers £3 to £0 2s ea.
ADDINGTON. At Addington live stock market on Wednesday there was a faii-ty large entry of stocß and a good attendance. Store, ewes and hoggets sold rather better than last week. Fat cattle showedj an improvement; consequent upon short supply; heavy-weight iat lambs were tinner, and fat sheep at last week's rajes, except prime ewes, which were firmer; store cattle were out of sale, but good young cows were in demand. The entry of store sheep was about tilic same in point of numbers as last week, and was mostly of a useful class'. The better classes of ewes and hoggets were in rather better demand, four and six-tooth ewes making up to 16s Id, failing-mouth IDs to lis (id, halfbred wether hoggets 7s 4d, three-quartcrbred hogget's (mixed s'exes) to llsi 4d, forward wethers 12s, others 9s to lis.
The entry of fat lambs was not quite so huge as last week, and the quality was on "tile whole good.' Exporters were operating trcely, and prices for tegs were firmer. The general run of prices was 1 Is 1 Oil to 14s, heavy-weights 14s to 15s. light sorts 10s to lis 4d.
There was not quite such a large yarding of fat sheep. The range of prices nas: Prime wethers 14s Od to 17s (id, extra to Ids 7d, lighter 12s Id to 14s 7d, prime ewe s 12s'to 14s 7d, extra to 15s 4d. medium 9s Od to lis Od, aged and light (is 3d to lis 7d, and merino wethers 8s 2d to lis Od.
There were only 103 head of fat cattle penned. The quality Was of good average. The shorter supply resulted in brisker competition, and values advanced about Is per 1001b, prime quality realising 18s Oil to 20s, medium 10s'to ISs', and cow and inferior 14s to los Od per 1001b. Steers sold' at £7 to £lO, heifers £5 lo £B, anil cows £5 to £0 7s Od.
There was a good entry of fat calves, many of them being beyond the age of vcalers. Prices ranged' irom, 4s Od to £2 10s.
A pom- lot of store cattle were entered, and they met with dull sale at late rates. Fifteen to eighteen-months l made 38s Oil. two-year steers £2 14s, two-year heifers £2 7s fld, three-year heifers £3 17s Od, and dry cows 20s to £4 7s Oil.
Good dairy cows were in brisk demand. Prices ranged from JE3 JUs lo £9 17s Od.
There was a. large entry of oil's, and prices for fata were weaker, and for stores there was only fair demand. Choppers sold up to £4. neavy uacon.cn 58s to 645, lighter 50; u. 57? We submitted and sold large catalogues of hides, skins, and tallow, all lines meeting with good competition at late rates.

Tallow: The market is easier. We quote—Beat mixed to 245, good 2ls to 22s Od, inferior 16s 6d to 18s' Bd. DUNEDIN, At Burnside stock market 280 fat cattle were yarded, n fair proportion being of really good quality. The supply was in excess of requirements, and the sale opened about 5s per head lower than last week's rates. Towards the end then; was a further drop, and sates were hard to effect.
