The annual meeting of the Board of Examiners under the Mining and Coal Mines Acts was held to-day, there being present Dr. Bell (Director"of Geological Surveys) in the chair, and Messrs. F. Seed (Inspecting Engineer of Mines), K. B. Duncan (Chief Inspector of Machinery), H. A. Gordon, J. Bishop, J. Dixon, T. Gilmour, B. Sutherland and H. E. Radcliffe (secretary to the Board), following are the results of the examinations held in March last;— Mine managers (gold): Passes, .1. R. Spearing (Wnihi), C. A. Katz (iWaihi), Oswald Hell (Waihi), W. Smith (Waihi), G. W. E. Turner (Reefton); partial passes, K. M. Barranee (Karangahake), L. E. Outridge" (Thames). Battery superintendents: Pass, Sydney Fry (Westport); partial passes, C. Harsant (Thames), Noel Carless (Waihi), W. S. Brown (Reefton), John McPadden (Reefton). Dredgemasters: Passes, T. R. Weir (Cromwell), T. Steele (Alexandra South) G. W. T. Campbell (Alexandra South), A. E. Spooner (Alexandra South), Wallace Carr (Alexandra South). < First class mine managers (coal): All the candidates failed. Second class: Passes, J. Carrutfliers (Dunedin), C. R. Heycock (Dunedin), J.
