UNIVERSAL TRAINING.
THE POLICY OF SOCIALISTS. The executive of the Socialist party of New Zealand met at Palmei.stou North on Sunday and passed the following resolutions in reference to compulsory military, training;— (!) We, the Socialist Party of New Zealand, are convinced that war irs the direct outcome, and an essential feature, of the capitalist system of society,
yi) We believe, t'lierefurci, tl|;it war will cease fwftli the passing awnv ot' the cni>itali«t system. (:)) Believing* as do that there is no cause existing for enmity between tlte great working flukes 01 nation anil nation, we seek to destroy the militarist anil jingo spirit.
(4) We protest against any attempt to foist any .system of compulsory military training upon the people of New Zealand, ami am™ our belief that the Uiiosl safeguard for international pcacg lies in the growing solidarity of tile workers of Hie world.
