AUCKLAND SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, ilay 27. In the Supreme Court Alfred Brewer, alius C. Anderson, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment for forging and uttering, and James King, for receiving stolen goods, also to two years'. DUNEDIN SESSIONS.
' Dunedin, Lust Nignt. At tlie criminal sittings to-day, Thos. O'Donnell was sentenced to ten years' for assaulting a .young girl. Thomas iFairlie Morris was placed on probation for twelve months for theft. James Pollock was sentenced to twelve months for theft from the person; Thomas Hussey to eighteen Months ior assault and robbery; John Eduard Blonquist to 18 months for stealing a bicycle; Robert Burgess and Thomas McLennan to three years each for robbing from the person; and Patrick Moriarty to two years for indecent assault. Thomas McGrath, for injuring cattle by shooting a.t them with a pea rifle, was placed on probation for two years, during which period •lie was to remain in the Salvation Army Home at Ciiristchurch. The jury failed to agree in the case ol Ellen Marion Edwards, charged with breaking and entering.
CHEISTCHURCH LIBEL CASE. Christchurch, Last Night. In the libel case, Curlett v. Lyttelton Times Co., in which a farthing damages was awarded, the Judge granted costs on the lowest scale against the Times Co. this morning.
