CORRESPONDENCE.
THAT RIFLE .MATCH. To the Editor. Sir, —1 cannot help noticing and not without regret the narrow mindedncss that exists between the Mangorei Uilles and Taranaki tiuuriU oi'er Uieir recent match. If Mangorei won the match the Guards ought only lo be too pleased to own their defeat and have another try at them like true British Volunteers should, and not bear malice because a little county team put them in the shade. On the other hand, it is not at all sportsmanlike for Jlangoiei to talk big over their win, as it will only make them feel very small should the (iuards beat thi-m next time I hey meet. The trouble between the two clubs does not interest the genei... pnmic. r'robably it would be in the interests'of New Zealand if the Minister of Defence would call in their rilles, as men who cannot take a win or a beating in the right spirit, ought not to be allowed to participate in a National sport.—l am, etc., NEW CHUM. Mangorei. May 24.
