HOMING NOTES.
The latest race ilown under the auspices of the New Plymouth Homing Pigeon Club was an interval event from Wunganui. The birds were liberated by Mr. C. Ryland, and nine members competed, with the following result:— V. H. Deal's "Aberdeen," 3h. li'/vin., velocity 755 yds. 2ft. 10in., Ist; 15. ilayly's "Kobin Hood," 3h. 18m., velocity 734 yds. 2ft. oin., 2nd; H. J. Jioverley's ,; Aurora," 3h. lym., velocity 734 yds. lit. Tin., 3rd; G. A. Corney's "Royalty,'' 3h. 2114 m., velocity 727 yds. 2ft. 7 in., 4th. The birds, having a. north-east wind and heavy rain to contend against, only put up a slow velocity, but as all birds homed it was a creditable performance. There is every probability of a Homing Pigeon Flying Club being started m Xew Plymouth East at an early date, Mr. C. Wright is the prime mover. - It is also rumored that an endeavor is being made to form a elub at Strat- | ford by local enthusiasts.
