THE GERMAN MENACE.
VIEWS OF A CANADIAN. Sydney, May 25. Mr. Clarke, a Canadian Government agent, speaking at the Empire League demonstration, said he did not believe that Oermony was unfriendly towards England, but Germany had had marvellous success, and with characteristic atiunco had made her preparations. Then sprang up Denmark, then Austria, then France; and her people had been made drunk by a class among them. She has at this moment an unsatisfied ambition.
"It we could believe that Germany at the head of the nations could do better for the world, that-she would stand for the oppressed against the oppressor, he would bow to tJTe will ot God; but he did not believe flermany could do for the nations what nve have done."
