THE PROPOSED COALITION. Melbourne', May 25. At tbi' conclusion of a protracted conference with Mr. Cook, Jlr. Deakin stated: "We have made a substantial advance towards fusion and discovered no unbridgeable gulf. We confer on un- j settled points' to-day." AGREEMENT ARRIVED AT. Received. 2(1, 1.15 a.m. Melbourne, May 25. The leaders have agreed to fusion and the terms of the compact will now be submitted to the respective parties.
