TIIH WOOL MARKET. By Telcgtaph— Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. Tlie Department of Industries has received the following cable from the High I Commissioner, dated London, May 22: The wool sales closed with keen competition. Strong American buying helped the Home and European markets. The woollen trade is good, and as no stock is accumulating the prospects are favorable. The estimated value, according to condition, is: Superior merino Is Id, Is 3i/,d; medium ll'/nd to Is o'/.d; inferior, 9d" to lid; fine crossbreds, all grades, Is Id to Is 4y 3 d, medium to Is 2d, coarse 7'/»d to Is.
