IMr. J. \V. Kirwnn, M.L.C., of the Kalgoorlie Miner, Wets Australia, and Mr. Mark Cohen, editor of the Duned'm Star, were among the. chief speakers at a luncheon given 'by the lion. Frank i Oliver, Minister for the Interior. The Board of Trade and the new«paper proprietors of Montreal entertained the delegates respectively at a luncheon and hanquet. Mr. R. KyffinThomas', of Adelaide, in the course, of an interview, declared: "Wepropose to protect ourselves in our own region, but w» the not less determined to help the Motherland to bring the navy to th« highest point of strength. It is certain that in the coming session of the Commonwealth Parliament, our relations with the Empire In the matter of defence will be the foremost subject,"
