He said the child had not been cared for as ir, snoiild have been, and the professional nurse having care of such a child was guilty of absolute neglect in not calling in a doctor for several week* before the death of the child, which was nothing but skin and bones. The nurse had no right to receive any cnlldreu in the home, and he retained her license, or so-called exemption, with tne oujeei of communicating.with the Health Department on the mutter.

A verdict was returned that deceased met his death accidentally through injuries received as a result of being run over by a waggon drawn by a traction engine, no blame being attachable to anyone. HUUXEI) TO DEATH. Ashburton, .May 21. A single man, about 50 years of age. was found burnt to death in the remains of a tent on the Uiiapuua estate, some miles beyond Muylield, this morning. Deceased lived 'by himself, and was engaged as a stonepickei' on tin estate. When last seen yesterday lit was in a. happy frame of mind. It ■> presumed the incineration was accident al and happened during the time hi was asleep.
ACCIDEXT-Oli WHAT? Core May 21. A. Turiibull left his home at Waikaka on Saturday for Waikaia. He bad not been heard of, and as his iiorse, saddled, had been found, a search party went out this morning anil found the 'body in a gully near the Waikuka, with tne head shattered by a gun-shot.
