' Deceased was one of the largest shareholders, vice-president, and a ill rector of the Standard Oil Company. II; was also connected with mining, ferry, banking and railway companies. The late Mr. Hogers made many gifts to his native town (Fnirhaven), including a library, town hall, school, church, and so on. lie was a member of art and musical societies anu the Now Tori: Yacht Club.
