A U-lu-r was received irom the Xev Zealand Association, expressing tin opinion that alterations made in till l'nles of the game by the English Asso ciution should become operative immedi ately upon rm-ijit in the Dominion. — proposition was carried that this Asso ciation is still o{ opinion that amend ment of rules, if notice of them is received after the commencement of the play ing season, should not come into fovei until the following season, and that no rules should lie recognised until notified by the Xew Zealand Association. ALTERATIOX OF RULES. Mr. Avery moved, in accordance with notice—(l) That each club pay £1 Is affiliation fee to the Association, and that an entrance fee of 10s be charged for each team competing in cup competitions; (2} that any club entering two teams in the competition have two representatives on the Association. An amendment was moved by Messrs Billing and Sen-hirst, that the matter be held over for consideration at the next annual meeting.—Lost. The first section of the motion was carried, and the second withdrawn bv jonaent. ' HUIIIAM AND KIA ORAS. Mr. Billing, depending on rule (i, objected to the affiliation of the Eltham 31ub, the rule providing that new clubs :ould be admitted only at the annual meeting. > It was pointed out that if the club Muld not be affiliated now, the chances ivere that the Eltham, Hockey Club would not be admitted at all, for the ilayers would probal>lv drift away into iome other sport.—Sir. A proposal by the Hawera delegate to inter a, B team, of Eltham players, was net by the Inglewood delegate's objection that the time for receiving entries lad closed. On that head, the Inglewood jlub objected, too, to Kia- Ora taking? (art. 6 Mr. Thomson said the game was in its nfancv, and the game would have little ;hance of going ahead under these conlitions. GENERAL. The JUociation's representative on the jS "?, Jan " Association notified that larunakis challenge for the shield had been received. ThamoK got in first THE AUCKLAND HATCH. The Auckland Association wrote offering £5 toward'* the Xaranaki rep. team's' espensfcs in a match against Auckland at Auckland. Tn a further letter the Association asked for a match at Xew Plymouth on August 28th, and required 'a guarantee. It -was decided that the funds of thei Association would not permit of a guarantee. .The Inglewood Club asked that J H .Turner (Kia Ora Club) be posted as a defaulting memlier of the Inglewood Uub.—After hearing his explanation and pending the minutes of the club's meeting, the Association decided not to aecede to the request. A "*'T commented on the fact that in the Xew Plymouth East v Tndewood match at Inglewood the visitors were ready at 3 o'clock, and demanded lialf-an-hour s grace.—The Fixtures Committee will be asked to fix the times tor starting matches.
