The Kaipara, which left the Waitara roadstead on Saturday morning, took the following cargo from the local freezing works:— 77 sacks of hides', 5a casks tallow, 59 casks of oleo, 40 bales of wool, 2851 quarters, of beef, 1004 carcases' of mutton, 338 carcases of lamb, 2!) cases sheep's tongues, 288 cases of tinned meats, and one case of meat extract. The Raraiwa brought 58 tons of cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning, including four tons of pollard, three tons of bran, and one ton of cement. The Corinna sailed for Wellington at noon yesterday, taking from this port , 1270 packages of chees'e, and 300 boxes of butter. The Koonya is due here early this morning from southern ports. She has about 300 ton 9 of cargo to land at this port. ■Mr. Daniel has returned from Grcvmouth after successfully blowing up the s.s. Hawea, and has commenced operations for the re-floating of uhe Union Co.'s steamer Taviuni, which was stranded oa the beach 12 months ago on the western side of .the Westport breakwater. Mr. Daniel has about 28 men engiged in digging sand from around end under the Taviuni and laying blocks on top of manuka all round the ship. A tram line has been laid from the ship to the breakwater. A train conveys the men to aad from their work daily.
