, \. FOUND DROWNED. ".By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tauranga, Monday. Robert Russell, farmer, was found drowned in the Juda river on Saturday. An inquest was held yester"day, a verdict of, found drowned being returned. There was no evidence to show how deceased got info water. Deceased, who was oi.years of age, came from the Tiinaru district. DEATH OF A MAORI. Gishome, Monday. A native named Joseph Swan was found dead in a ditch near the town on Sunday morning. Jfc had been seen on horseback when leaving town on Satur- - day evening. Evidently he was thrown from the horee. FOUND DEAD. Wellington, last Night. This morning, at 10 o'clock, Arthur Pickerell, who had been in business as a storekeeper at Maranui for some years, W(,« discovered dead in bed. Pickerell was an elderly man, a natjvc of Nottingham, and lived alone on the premises.
