LONDON COUNTY COUNCIL LOAN. London, May 13. The immense application for the London County Council is estimated to create a temporary lock-up of cash amounting to forty-six million .pounds. LONDON MARKETS. London, May 13. Wool—There was a good sale at full rates; Avondale clip brought 11%'1, Ruanui clip 12y B d. Wheat is dull owing to the weakness in America. Alloat cargoes arc offering at 43s Od. Silver, 24% d. Lead, 13 3-lGd. Imports total 20,550 tons, including 2473 tons from Australia; exports total 4187 tons. Pearlshcll sales—l3oo lots were offered and sold at the average March prices to 10s decline.
THE WAIHI DIVIDEND. Auckland, Friday. In addition to the quarterly dividend of four shillings a share, the Waihi Company declared a bonus of bwo shillings' a share.
NEWTON KING'S REPORT.
At the llaymarket on Saturday there was a fair entry of pigs. Weauers made 4s Oil to fis od, small stores 7s to 10s. Harness horses, £5 os to £8 13s. Cattle.—At RithofiTon Tucs'day there was only a fair varding of cattle. Weaners made 10s Oil to 15s Od,' 15 to 18montlis heifers 24s to 20s, store cows £1 to £2 Is, forward do. £2 lis to £3 ss, bulls £l. On the same day I held a clearing sale of dairy cows, etc., on account of Mr. W. Dalziell. The cows were young, but mostly in milk and late calvers: early calvers made £4 to £4 17s' Od, late do. £2 12s Od to £3 os. Four-year-old draught horse £2B. two-year-old colt £l7 Ins. trari mare £lO, gig £ll 10fi. Sundries sold at usual prices. At Oakura on Wednesday T held a clearing sale on the farm lately owned by Mr. .1. Were, There was a good attendance, but prices for most lines were in favor of buyers. Two-tooth to f.in s ewes made 7s, old do. 2s. 2-lonth fat forward wethers 10s 3d, lambs 0s 2d, cull do. ,1s 3d, yearling steers £1 14s Od. yearling heifers £1 12a. light draught mares £l2 to £lO 10s, 2-vear-old do. £7,
At Waiwakaiho on Thursday there was a fair yarding of cattle, and nearly everything sold at the hammer at the following prices:—Weaners 13s Od to 15s. yearling heifers £T 2s, store cows 25s to £2 Os, forward do. £2 14s Od to £3 4s, heifers and calves £2 ss, cows in calf £3 5s to £4 10s. springing cows £4 Ins. heifers in calf £3 7s Od to £3 13s (id. 2'/,,-year steers £3 ss', bulls £1 9s lo £1 10s.
STRATFORD HIDE, WOOL, SHEEPSKIN & TALLOW SALE.
| On Alay 11th we held our usual sale of above produce and submitted a very attractive catalogue consisting of 400 hides, 50 bags and 5 bales wool, 000 sheepskins, 100 calfskins, 2 casks and a quantity of tallow Fn tins, bones, horsehair, ele. Buyers were iu attendance from Auckland to Dunedin, with the result that hides and tallow maintained the high rates' of last sale, while wool and sheepskins wore a shade higher, In sympathy with the London market. We quote:— ; Wool-Fleece;,ld to G'/.d; lambs', 5d to Gi/.d; crntchings, 3'/ 2 to 3%d; dead, 4%d 1., ,V/ a ,l; pieces, 2%d.

Sheep. Two-tooth threo-quarterbrvd ewes sold up to 14s lid, and four and six-tooths to 15s; forward wethers' lis lo lis Hid, and smaller 10s to 10s Od; ewe lambs, lis to 12s, a few small lines of mixed sexes 7s 6d to !)s. and culls 0s Od to 7s 3d.
Fat Lambs.—The range for freezers was' 12s Od to lis, lighter sorts down to IU Od, heavy tegs to 14s Od, and lieavv liutehers' lambs to 15s 3d. Fat Sheep.—The range of prices was: Prime wethers 15s to 17s 3d, lighter 12s to 14s fid, prime merino wethers 12s Id to 12s lOd, prime ewes 12s to 14s, extra to )5s lid, lighter 0s Gd to lis' Od, memo ewes 7s Od.
A poor lot of store cattle was offered. Three-year heifers made £4 ss, and drycows 17s Gd to £2 10s. Good dairy cow's were in demand, prices ranging from £3 10s 8d to £lO 7s(ld. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 205 head. Steers made £0 17 s Od to .£lO 2s Bd. heifers £5 to £7 7s. and cows £4 os to £B-equal to 17s Gd to 19s or prune, las to 17s for medium, and 13s to 14s Gd for cow and inferior beof per 1001b.
There was a medium entry qf pigs. A.l classes met with improved demand. Choppers sold up to £4 10s, heavv baconers 57s to 03s, and lighter 50s to oGs-equal to 4y 3 d to 4%d per lb; heavy porkers 38s to 40s. and lighter 32s to SOs'-equal to 6,1 per lb; medium stores |° 3 j*> smaller 22s to 28s, and weanera 10s Gd to 14s Od.

We submitted and sold large catalogues of hides, skins, and tallow on Tuesday, all lines meeting with good competition at late rates.
Hides.—The market is firm. We quote: Extra stout ox 7d to 7%d, stout' do. o'/id to (l-y,d, medium do. 5%d to Gi/ B d, light do. sy,d to 5%d; cows', best lines ">%d to 7\'/.A, good 5d to s'/ 4 d, scored 4%d to 4%d, kips 41/jd to S'/ a d. ealfs'kins 3'/id to fid damaged hides 2d to 3'/.d.
Sheepskins—Market firm. Best butehers' skins, large to ss. good lines 3s Od to 4s 3d, small Is Od to 2s ltd, lambs and Kelts 3s 3d to 3s lOd, seconds 2s Gd to 2s Oil.
