PARIS POSTAL STRIKE.
TROOPS TO THE RESCUE. Paris, May 12. Troops arc holding the Paris Post Office, and the Republican Guard i( parading the streets. A FIASCO. INEFFECTIVE BLUFF OF THE STRIKERS. PROMPT ACTION BY THE GOVERNMENT. Received 13, 11.10 p.m. Paris, May 13. The postal strike has resulted in a fiasco. There were only 4(15 ataenteos. The leaders blulted yesterday's meeting by imaginary conversations on a dummy telephone, whervby it was suggested that the provinces supported the strike. A majority of the employees object to {lie revolutionary character imparted into the strike. Five hundred military telegraphist! and electricians were summoned to Paris. . • Tlic wires were carefully watched. Twenty-four out of 37 London-Paris wires were working away, business firms using the Paris Chamber of Commerce cout'ier services to the provinces. Hotelkeepers organised a foruign service, via Brussels, on behalf of 20,000 visitors to Parisian hotels. The Government has decided to dismiss 228 strikers. /
