CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, Ludwig 'Hoft, charged with assault with iute:it, was acquitted. Clnistouher Isaac Den 1)y, ex-stationmaster at Leeston, was sentenced to six months' for the theft of n parcel from the railway station. William Anderson was sentenced to 18 months' for receiving stolen property. WELLIXUTOX SESSIONS. Wellington, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, George Williams and William Thomas were sentenced to two years' imprisonment, ami Joint Trainor to 18 months' for assaulting a man with intent to rob. Alfred Biirniele, for theft from Ngahanranga railway station, was sent to prison for nme months. Arthur New, for stealing a ring from Miss Kay, a barmaid, was sentenced to two year** imprisonment. Bernard Smith, a middleaged man, was convicted of indecently assaulting a little girl at Karori. His Honor Mr. Justice Chapman said this ■was one of the most serious offences, and on* of which the consequences might ia the future be far-reaching. It was necessary that it should be known as' widely as possible that all Judges regarded this crime as one of the most serious character that could be brought before the Court. Prisoner would te sentenced to five years' hard labor. Alexander McMillan, charged with forging a receipt for a telegraphic moneyorder, was found not guilty.
