DEMENTED GIRL'S SUICIDE.
By Telegraph.—l'ress Association. Thames, Saturday. What appears to be a caw of suicide lias been reported to the police. Elsie Johnston, aged 2;!, daughter of a Thames resident, left her home on Thursday and had not been seen since, tin Thursday slhe was sera heading for Kauranga Valley, where there is a river which is deep in places. Yesterday there was found in a drawer a note in which the girl expressed her intention of making away with herself. A search of the river was made, and her hat and boots were found in the vicinity of a deep pool. The police arc now dragging the river. It appears that the girl had become despondent because »be had failed to secure employmcnt, with the result that her mind became unhinged, Thames', Later. The girl Johnston was found in the Tvnmi'iingi river this morning. Her skirts were found near the water, and there is. no doubt it is a case of suicide.
