METHODISM.
THE SOUTH ROAD CHURCH. At the South Road schoolroom last evening a welcoming social was tendered to the new ministers appointed to the circuit, Rev. J. G. Chapman and Rev. W. Kellow. Mr, J. Gibsfcn, junior circuit steward, presided. The service commenced with the singing of the "Old Hundredth." Addresses of welcome were given by the chairman, Messrs C. Carter, E. Chatterton, H. Black, and Mrs. McTsaac, and the Revs. Chapman and Kellow replied in feeling terms. A capital programme of -oocal, musical and elocutionary items was given, the following ladies and gentlemen contributing to the evening's enjoyment:—lnstrumental trio, Miss Buckman and Messrs Benbow and Lawn; duets, Misses Vita Gilbert and Jessie Mclsaac, and the Misses Buckman; solo, Mr, F. Asher; cornet solo, Mr. H. Lawn; recitations, Misses Keye and Brokenshire. Refreshments were handed round. Votes of thanks were accorded to all who had assisted with the programme.
