Teachers and .committees oi ,e.eral schools will be asked on what a minority children were given a holiday oa Tuesday, April 13th last. The Chief Inspector furnished a report on the request of the Kaimiro committee for additions to the school. The roll number was 49, and five children were to be admitted shortly. The dimensions of the room were 22ft x 22ft, providing floor space for at most 48 pupils. Ho recommended tftat application oc made to the Department for uduitions. —Adopted. The Inspectors recommended that the following probationers be appointed as probationers of the second year: Miss A. Bollinger, Frankley; Miss Brown, Stratford; Miss Prideaux, Midhirst; Miss Bertrand, Urenui. The Awatuna committee drew attention to the over-crowded state of tlie Awatuna school. The attendance was 66, in a room which would properly accommodate only 44. —Referred to the Inspector. The Huiakama committee, in asking that the two front rooms of the new residence be papered rather than mafc-h----lincd, pointed out that the building was being erected on a site that aiways caught the cold south-west wind. Lengthy correspondence revealed the existence of a rift in the lute at Mahoe between the teacher and the committee. ■The committee asked for an inquiry. A

F. Taylor, J. Randell, and 0. W. The Bell Block Committee applied for a subsidy towards the cost of building ' a shelter-shed.—Usual.grant made. The Pohoknra coinmittec asked or tracing of the school ground, to enable them to fix the fencing line.—Referred to the chairman. Lincoln committee reported that during the recent gale the roof of (lie shelter-shed was again blown off, damaging the ventilator and chimney of the school.
