The adjourned meeting of the Taranaki Metropolitan Committee was held at the secretary's office last night. Present: Col. Ellis (in the chair), Messrs. Nolan, Sole, Cliff, lleinpton, Weston, Goldwater, and Blundell. An apology for absence was received from Air. Leppcr. Jockeys' licenses were granted to Albert Ellerm and H. J. Air. Messenger was appointed the club architect.
Messrs. Lepper, Cliff, Nolan and Blundell were appointed a sub-committee to take steps for the removal of earth in the saddling paddock and to accept tenders for the same. It was decided to instruct the architect to prepare a pencil sketch and estimates for a stewards' stand, containing a secretary's office, jockeys' room, and weighing room on the ground floor, and stewards', press, and handicappers' rooms and lavatories on second dloor; also for stabling consisting of eight.' horse boxes and eight stalls. The decision of the Judicial Committee in connection with the inquiry into H. Price's riding of Moriarty in the Grandstand Handicap was confirmed. A vote of thanks was accorded the Recreation Sports Ground Committee for use of stands for the autumn meeting, and it was decided to forward a donation of £2 2s.
