The street lights were burning brightly, however, although at the point of the collision it was somewhat dark. The motor car was coming into town, and apparently was crossing over to its right side of the road whoa the accident happened. When passing Jury's stables, our reporter was informed, the ear was run ning at a solid pace, close to th c footpath on the wrong side of the road, which, however, was quite clear of traffic on that side., The driver of the car apparently wan working ovc r to the other side or the road when the impact I occurred, the leakage of water from the i damaged portion of the car being almost on the crown of the street. Dr. Fookes was immediately summoned, and on arrival ordered the injured man's removal to the hospital, where ho-was found to be suffering frpm ■ concussion of the brain. The occupants of tile ear, Mr. A. Alexander and another gentleman, marvellously escaped uninjured, as the shaft of the cart must have missed them by inches.
