The report embodied a suggestion to the incoming committee that the protective fence on the north side of the school be removed and that the trees surrounding the ground be trimmed. The annual meeting of householders was held at Opmiake on Monday evening, about fourteen being present. Mr. Geo. Looney presided. The report showed that the school now had a roll number of 112, with three teachers. Garcia secretary and treasurer. I.EPPERTON. Nine householders attended the meeting, when the following were elected:—Messrs Lepper (chairman), Cartwright, Seamark, Payne, Clark, Lovell, and Roberts (secretary). BELL BLOCK. The following committee was elected: Mejp J. S. Connett, J. W. Downs, F. lloskin, C. lloskin, J. Holmes, junr., E. C. King, J. I'oletti. Mr. Connett was elected chairman ami Mr. Downs secretary. FIT2ROY. There was a large attendance of householders at the Fitzroy school. The report presented by Mr. J. Tisch. chairman of the outgoing committee, stated that the first matter dealt with by lh c coimnittev in the past year was that of unsuccessfully endeavoring to induce the Education Board to provide latrines for the school. The examin-i- ---: fion and inspection reports showed that 1 the school was doing good work and that th e teachers continued to do their best 'ior the children. The school cadets were shaping well, and the movement was one that the committee wished to be encouraged. The attendance of scholars had been ifairly satisfactory, the last report showing it as 112.5 out of a roll number of 125. The committee hoped that in the near future the numbers would justify an additional leather. The committee ' heartily thanked the headmaster, .Mr. Johnson, and his staff for their courtesy during the past twelve months. STRATFORD. The annual meeting of householders to elect a school committee was unusually well attended, no less than 153 being present.
