Canterbury is quoted at 3d and North Island 2%d. The lamb market is weak, stocks on hand are heavy and widely distributed amongst the agents wlio are pushing sales. Canterbury 4%d, North Island 4^.(1. Beef —The market is quiet. There is no change in prices, namely, hinds 3%d, fore 2'/ 2 d. Butter—The market is quiet but steady, with a better demand for best quality and a poorer demand for inferior qualitv. Choicest New Zealand is quoted at' 10»s, Danish 108s, Siberian 98s, Australian 07s, Argentine 98s. Cheese —The market is rather quiet. Colored is quoted at 03s. and while lils per cwt. The Papanui's shipment of cheese arrived in a damaged condition. Hemp—The market is quiet, but holders are firm ipr New Zealand on account of the small supply. Good iM fair on spot £23 10s, New Zealand fair grade on spot £22, fair current Manila £22, April-June shipments, good fair grade £23, fair grade £2l 10s, fair current Manila £2l 10s. The Manila output is 18,000 bales.

Wheat—The wheat markets remains firm, but advance is checked. Prices have declined 3d per bushel.

There is a brisk demand for oats. Beans are scarce. The market is firm.

Peas—The market is firm, and prices continue to advance.

The cocksfoot seed market is steady at 80s, with a firm market for all grades.
