PORTUGUESE EARTHQUAKE
Lisbon, April 25. The earthquake at Portugal overthrew many houses. Forty persons were killed at Benavcnte and 15 at Snmorra Correia. , Madrid, April 25. Heavy earthquake shocks occurred at Madrid, Cordova, Malaga, Seville, V«ladolid, Jcripcz, and Badajos. OBSERVATORY RECORDS. Received April 27, 12.5 a.m. Sydney, April 26. During the week Hiding Saturday a number of records of minor earth tr* mors were registered at the observatory, tin the 2Hrd one was recorded, which wus probably that which caused the damage in Portugal. It was similar in intensity to the Messina record.
