REORGANISING THE AGRICULTURAL DEPARTMENT.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Cabinet to-day decided upon the following scheme of re-organisation of the Department of Agriculture:—!!. S. Pope, Chief Clerk, to become Secretary for Agriculture; D. Cuddie. Dairy Commissioner, to become Director of the Dairy Produce Department; C. J. Rcakcs, Chief Veterinarian, to become Director of the .Live Stuck mid Meat Division; .1. L. Bruce, Inspector of Stock in, Otago, to become Assistant Director of the Live Stock and Meat Division; E. Clifton, Chief Inspector of Stock, to become Director of Fields and Experimental Farms; T. W. Kirk, Government Biologist, to become Director of Orchards, Gardens and Apiaries Division. Wellington, Last Night. The Government has decided, as part of the scheme of reorganisation and retrenchment to close sonic ni the poultry farms carried on in the Dominion b'y the Agricultural Department. Burnham farm will be the first to cease operations,

Morris, acting-secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, has been appointed Acting-Commissioner 'of Old Age Pensions and Acting-Commis-sioner of Stamps. Mr. P. C. Corliss, who recently arrived from Dunedin to take np .duties in Wellington, becomes Deputy-C'oiiMiiissiouer of Stamps; Capt. T. W. McDonald, assistant AdjutantGeneral in the Wellington military district, succeeds Colonel Lovcda'v in charge of school cadets, with the" rank of major.
