WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The return cricket match, Warea v. C'iirriug-ton Road, was played on Easter Monday at Carrington Road, when an interesting game resulted in the defeat of Warea', for the first time this season. by 2U runs on the first innings. Surprises mere the order of the day, the country players heing scarcely prepared for the tortuous and puzzling deliveries of the representative player SouthaH or the curious and somewhat doubtful quality of the stuff sent down (or was it up?) by Pel ham. Warea's first Innings brought only 2(i, but a much better stand was made in their second venture, when 72 were knocked up for the loss of throe wickets, Jenkins (21 not 'out) and Warlmrton (21 not out) being very much more at home with the six bowlers tried. Warea very much appreciated the entertainment provided by the town team, the day's sport concluding with a smoke concert, at which J[r. \V. I'erham presided in an able manner. .Messrs. Sainmer. Goodwin, Foot. Anderson, Warbiirton, Xewman. and Larking contributed items, a popular item being an impromptu topical verse treating of a bowlvr's peculiarities.
