WAITARA WEST ROAD BOARD

At the monthly meeting' of the above Hoard there were present: -Mr S. TumImk (elminiiiiii), Messrs Council, Smith ami Western.

Correspondence was read from Mr It. Wells, requesting the .Board to metal entrance to his property on the Waitara road. From Mr Hoy, stating that Mr Bowman bad signed plans of Kelly road deviation ; and from Mr Siiviiian, asking for permission to take some eartn from the cutting on Corbett road. Mr Crowe attended, and requested that a grant be made for repairing the Lepperton factory road, and it was decided to give £3 towards the cost of same.

'The Clerk was directed to inform Mr Wells that the Hoard were unable to metal his entrance.

Shrfaceniun Palmer reported that 13. Richards had delivered 100 yds of metal on his Te Arai road contract. A culvert on Malarikoriko road required filling and fencing. Surfaceman Paul reported that two hills on Wurtley road had been formed; ten chains of lirowu road had been recoated, and the format ion oji Corbett road commenced. The Ackwui'lh road required forming, and metal on Corbett road repairing.

The works mentioned in surfacemen's reports were authorised. The balance sheet for'the past year I was read, the receipts on the general account (including balance brought forward of .1336) being £!)1G, made up of rates £437, Government subsidy £lll, poundage fees £B, toll-gate fees £3 10s, and sale of land £lO, and the expenditure £530, £4BO of which was expended on roads, leaving a balance of £385 carried forward. The total receipts (including epeeial rates) were £I2BO, and the total expenditure of £BIO. Accounts amounting to £7B were passed for payment and the Board rose.
