SUSPECTED INCENDIARISM

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Last Night. An enquiry into the fire which destroyed the Fanners' Co-op. building was held by the directors to-day, but nothing definite was elicited, except that every care had been taken to extinguish the lights. The man employed its cleaner and caretaker saw the fast of the workers out and went round after them. He suggested that fire linil been thrown in through a broken window, but thin was on the ground floor, and other evidence showed that the fire commenced on' the. third floor. The witness considered the lire was not accidental. The directors decided to offer a reward of C.W for information afc fo the origin of the lire, and £2OO for the conviction of an incendiary. This was the fourth fire, and the third heavy lo,s the Farmers' Co-op. have had. The wholo of the (icvahlinc More and two retail stores in Timaru have been destroyed.
