THE CENTRAL SCHOOL GARDEN.

To the Editor. Sir,—At the last-Education Board meeting, I remember, the instructor reported adversely upon the Central School gardens or agricultural instruction plots. I have Beard that some letters hive appeared in thhe Naw Plymouth papers about the matter, but 1 haven't seen them. Perhaps the following clipping from the Stratford Post report of out last horticultural show will throw some light on the matter:—"ln the public school barraer competition the Ngaire school exhibit scored a decisive victory, registering 21 point 6 as against the 16 points which carried Tikorangi into second place, Inglewood filling third position with 13 points. Then came Norfolk Soad with 10, Midhirst, Kaimata, and Huiakama with 7 each. Hahoe and Lepperton 6 eac\ Stratford a, and Central and Toko 2 each. The judge, Mr. G. N. Tate, remarked concerning the exhibits throughout this class that they were the finest he had seen at any show, and that they reflected the very greatest credit on Mr. R, U«K. Morison, as instructor, aud on the masters ant! scholars of the various schools. The qualify of the exhibits certainly was very fine to all appearance, and would have done no disgrace to a professional exhiEitor." Thanking you in anticipation,—l am, etc., EXOENTRAL. Stratford, 9th March, 1009.
