There were 000 change* mado in Payne's Tariff Bill before the Senate. The geuerul purpose in to make slight reductions on muuy articles instead of heavy cuts on a few lines of goods, l'aintiugs and sculptures are to be admitted free, and should lead to the importation of many "old masters" kept in Europe, including much of Pierpont Morgan's collection.
