There were about 11)30 men under canvas in an ideal sum on the banks "I the Oroua and Kiritaki streams, some, live or six miles from Dannevirkc. On Friday there was parade of U"ops, wiH> battalion movements. On sataruuy there was work in U\e shape ol an engagement with an enemy irom me adjacent hills. The enemy was repulsed, but the Hanking movements tailed. On Sunday rain fell steadily all 'h'.v, and i clVcctivelv prevented all useful work. (In Momluv manoeuvres were continued in line weather. A further attack was i made and excellent shooting done by the artillery, who bred live shells. A pontoon bridge had been erected across the IJanawatu river, but was wasned away as the result ol Sunday's ram. The camp was admirably arranged, but the hospital under the medical stall was kept full with volunteers suffering from complaints and accidents. The camp broke up today, and the Railway Department wele bu'sv with the departing troop-. But for "the one wet day the camp was thoroughly successful.
