A TRAWLER IN TROUBLE. Nelson, Saturday. The steam trawler Nora Niven entangled her trawling gear with her propeller this morning while some miles out in the bay. The steamer Koi towed her in. No damage is anticipated.

THE WAITARA BAR. The Waitara bar is in very bad working ordeT at present. The heavy sou'weafc weather has caused the channel to run in a northerly direction, with the result that vessels crossing the bar have to go out almost broad-side on. All the traders to tie port have been ashore during the last six weeks. A good flood in the river would have the effect of clearing the channel, and decreasing the anxiety of masters trading to the port.

Owing to the bad weather the Buteshire has aot yet commenced loading operations'at Waitara. She has been in the roadstead since Tuesday. The Drayton Grange, which was to have arrived to-day, will not call at waitara until the departure of the Buteshire. The Union Company, after April 20, will institute a direct cargo service from Nelson to New Plymouth. This will be brought about by the Connna, which will call at Nelson en route from the South everv eecond Thursday, arriving at New Plymouth, as usual, on Friday. , The Takapuna. brought 28 tons of cargo from Onehunga on Saturday, including 40 bags of sugar.
