Owing to the very rough weather this last week there was only a very suiall yarding at my Urenui sale on Monday. A line of IUU 2 to 2'/ s -year heifers in calf made £2 Bs, fat cows £3 18s, 15-mOnths heifers £1 3s lid, wea-aer steers 18s, store cow T s £1 'tis, 2to 0-tooth wethers 8s Sd, 4, 6, and f.m. ewes 86. At Rahotu on Tuesday wcanore made 12s to 14s, yearling steers 30s, 18-months steers 30s, 20-months to 2-year steers £2 145,22 2 to 3-year steers £3 Bs, store cows £1 3s Od to £2, iorward cows £2 10s. At Stony River on Wednesday there was a good yarding of cattle, most lines being sold at the hammer at the following prices:—AVeaners 14s 6d to 15s (id, 18-months steers 356 6d to 38s 6d, do. good £2 4s, 15-nionths heifers 21s Od to 275, empty heifers £2 Is to £2 10s, forward heifers £2 13s, fat heifers £3 17s, store cows £1 -V to £1 18s Od, forward cows £2 12s, fat cows £3 10s, 3-year bullocks £3 I!)s, bulls £1 Bs. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday I held my supplementary sheep fair in conjunction with my ordinary cattle sale. There were about 3000 sheep penned and a fair yarding of cattle. Bidding for sheep was dragging; cattle sold at slightly improved prices, I quote as follows: Weaners 8s to 12s, 15-months mixed CI 8s Od, 13-months heifers £1 ss, fat heifers £3 lis to £3 15s, store cows 30s to 40s, forward do. £2 12s, fat cows £3 17s to C 4 ss, 18-months steers £1 18s, 8%-year bullocks fat and forward £5 Is, bulls 2Gs to 31s, lambs 5s Id to 5s 4d, cull lambs 3s 2d, 2-tooth ewes 12s Od, 4, fi, and f.m. do. lis lOd, old ewes 4s sdi to 0s 7d, cull ewes 2s to 3s 7d, 4 and 6-tooth wethers 10s 3d, rams %gn. VICKERS AND STEVENS' REPORT. There was only a small entry of cattle in our Inglewood yards on Wednesday last. Empty heifers made £1 3s to £1 Od, good calf heifers £2 3s to £3 3s, store cows £1 as to £2 7s Od, springers £3 to £4 10s, good forward cows £3 12s. JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows:—A small entry of medium quality bullocks sold at late rates. A fair yarding of sheep sold readily. Bullocks, light £7 to £7 10s, lighter £6 7s 6d to £0 17s Odj good wethers, 12s lid to 13s 3d; ewes, Us lOd; lambs, prime lis 4d, medium 10s 3d, light 9s to 9s (Id. CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKET. There was a very large entry of sheep at the Add'mgton yards on Wednesday, particularly in the fat and store pens, while the yarding of lambs showed a j great reduction compared with previous j sales. Fat wethers showed a decline in price, and fat ewes brought prices equal to late rates. There was an improved demand for store sheep on account of the favorable pros-petfts for feed. The yarding oi fat cattle was easier, and the number of store sheep offered was below that at recent sales. The class was composed very largely of ewes of various ages and descriptions, including a few lines of two-tooths of exceptionally good quality. Only a few lots of wethers came forward. Ewes in average lines made 9s Od to 10s Od, one Or two lots in very forward condition making 12s to 12s !)d.

The very few lambs offered were sold at late Tates. The yarding of fat lambs was very gmall compared with last week, 2835 being offered against 5152. The quality was fairly good, and prices were on a par with those obtained at the previous sale. Freezing buyers took 2354, prices ranging from 10s 6d to 13s od, a few of extra quality making 13s Od to 14s. The butchers purchased 481, at from 10s 9d to 13s 7d, extra making 14s.

Fat Sheep: The yarding of wethers was larger than usual, and prices were easier, with a decline on last week of from Is to Is 6d. Prices—Prime wethers 15s to lfc 10d, extra, to 18s. lighter 12s 5d to 14s 9d, prime ewes lis to 15s, others 7s 3d to 10s fid. Fat Cattle: The entry of 365 head ineluded a considerable number of fat cows. Best steer beef realised 20s to 21e Od, medium 18s to 19s Od, and cow beef 15s to 17s Gd per 1001b. Steers made £7 10s to £lO os, heifers £5 to £7 15s, and dry cows £4 Is to £8 2s Od.

There was a small entry of stores, the sale dragging and a fairly large proportion of the entry being passed. Prices: 14 to 18-mOnths-old sorts 25s to 30s, 2-year steers 45s to 555, 2-year heifers 40s, 2y 3 -year steers £4, dry cows 20s to 70s. There was a good yarding of dairy cows and a good demand for best class at prices from £3 6s to £lO 7s Od. The entry of fat pigs was medium, and those 'of good quality met witli a keen demand. Choppers realised 63s 6d, heavy baconers 55s to 635, lighter 48s to 54s (equal to 4'/ = d to 4%d per lb), heavy porkere 3Ss to 445, lighter 32s to 37s (equal to 6d per lb). No large stores came forward. Fairsized sorts made 28s to 325, smaller 22s to 275, weaners from 8s 6d to 10s, smaller sorts meeting with a poor demand.

AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:— Horses: At the Durham yards on Friday a good many: horses were brought forward and disposed of. Heavy draughts sold at from £22 10s to £35, medium do. £l6 10s to £27, hacks and light harness horses £6 10s to £l9, weeds £2 10s to £6 las. Cattle; At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were penned in usual numbers. Dairy cows sold at from £3 10s to £6, empty cows £2 2s to £3 ss, calves 18s to £1 7s. Beef was yarded in full quantities, and the quality throughout was good. The advaucc in last week's rates was maintaincw*. Oxen sold to 21s per 1001b, and cows 17s to 19s. Steers sold at from £6 10s to £9 15s, cows £3 10s to £6. Sheep: Sheep were penned in average numbers and sold at late rates.' Wethers realised from 10s fid to I7s, ewes 9s M to 13s 9d, store ewes 4s to 7s Od, hoggets 8s Od to 12s, lambs well fatted 8s 9d to lis, other sorts 4s 3d to 7s 6d. Pigs: Porkers sold at from 19s Od to £1 7s, weaners 5s 6d to 12s 6d, baconers £1 10s to £2 12s. We submitted and sold large catalogues of bides, skills, and tailow on Tuesday, all lines meeting with keen competition at late rates. Hides: Market brisk.
