ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, March 27. A young man named James Robinson drove last night to a hotel in a cab and invited a stranger to drink'with him. Upon the hospitality being refused Robinson said he would kill himself, nnd produced a razor and gashed ins throat. The wound was not serious. Robinson is now in the hospital.

A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. AVoodvillc, Last Night. William Logan, a settler, and a member of the Woodville County Council, met with a serious accident some tune yesterday. He was rilling his horse over the back portion of his farm, which i» rough country, when the horse fell over a clill' and broke its neck. Logan was knocked insensible by the fall, and lay out all night. He was discovered by a couple of neighbours about ten this morning. Logan was not quite conscious when the doctor left him.

HANK CLKUK'S SUICIDE. Wellington, Last Night. A single man named James Fleming, u saloon passenger from Lvtlclton by the .Maori, jumped overboard as the steamer wn<s approaching Wellington wharf to-day. A boat was promptly lowered, and the body was found after a little time, life being extinct. Fleming was a clerk in the employment of the Hank of New Zealand, ami was being transferred irom Waimate to Wellington.

THE PETONE FATALITY. Wellington. Last Night. The inquest was resumed on Saturday concerning the death of Samuel Wilson, an tlm result of injuries received through the collapse of the ,-oof of a building being erected for the Gear Meat Co. at Petone. William George Loddcr, engineer for the Gear Company, said that the braces had been removed without his knowledge or instruction. If they had been left in position they would have prevented the accident. George Duncan, draughtsman and clerk of the works, thought the accident was due to the removal of the braces. The inquest was further adjourned till Tuesday.
