ANNIVERSARY DAY CELEBRATIONS.
Only good weather is required to make the revival of Anniversary Day celebrations on Wednesday a complete success. The Taranaki Provincial Oddfellows' picnic' to be held at the breakwater will of itself attract a large number of visitors, and the programme of sport*, etc., arranged by the Oddfellows committee is a verv comprenensive one. The Xew Plymouth Seaside Improvement Committee and the Anniversary Hay Committee have also made wy complete arrangements for the entertainment of the public. The old identities arc to be entertained at afternoon tea and officially welcomed by his Worship tlie Mayor, Mr, 0, Tisch, and amusements are to be provided for the children. The committee lias also made arrangements with the Northern Steamship Company for a marine excursion on the Kara'wa. for which a nomnai charge will be made. The catering arrangements arc in the capable bands of Mr. J. W. Thomson, who is having erected two spacious refreshment marquees, and also a soft drinks, fruit and lollv booth.
