For a number of years several district studmasters of draught stock have found Australian- markets <i reliable outlet for their surplus animals. Mr. J. D. Mitchell, of Manaia, and Mr. James Grant, of Taiporolienni, have become quite frequent visitors to the land of the Commonwealth, and no better illustration of the quality of those breeders can be given than the continuing demand which each successive consignment increases. It is pleasing to note (savs the Star) th'at Mr. Grant, although still carrying his arm in .slings consequent upon his recent accident, lias, sulliciently recovered 1 to undertake his projected trip to Australia. Taking with him hali-a-doze-i two-year-old l colts bv Royal Standard, Mr. (Jrant will once more try Sydney as his market-place. Consequent upon the glutted state of last year's New South Wales market by the pressure of stock from the neighboring State of Victoria, the Taiporohenui breeder elected to try Queensland for his last shipment, where he also, found, willing buyers.
