LONDON MARKETS. London, March 25. Wool.—Keen competition and a splen did selection. Prices are the highest oi the series. The ii.T.S- clips brought 9 l-9d, Lansdowne 12% d. Wheat.—A cargo of Australian sold at 40s. Parcels of 1.1,000 quarters of the February shipment sold at 30s Ud, and 14,000 of tho January-February shipment at 39s M.

NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At the Haymarket on Saturday store pigs made 33s Od, slips 4s Gd to 8s (id, gig £lO 10s, hack £1 ss. CATTLE. At Toko on Monday there was a small yarding, and bidding "was quiet. W eanen> made 9s to 12s, store cows 2(is to 525, fat and forward do. £3 Us to £4 as, f.rn. ewes 3s lOd to Gs Cd, lambs 4s (id. At Stratford on Tuesday ,there was a good yarding and a large attendance. Bidding dragged for nearly all classes except forward cows, which : sold well, and although a good deal of business was done in othe r lines, prices were all in buyersl favor. Weauers mad e Gs to 13s 6d, 12 to 18-months heifers 24s to 28s, 18-months to 2-year heifers in eaif £2 12s Sd 'to £2 17s 6d, 2'/ 2 year steers good quality £3 15s, store cows 2os to 375, forward do. £2 15s to £3 9s, fat do. £3 18s to £4 Bs, i.m. ewes 2s <kl to 4s, 4 and 8-tooth do. Gs 7d to 10s, bulls 35s to 475.

VICKERS AND STEVENS' REPORT. There was a fair muster oi cattle in our lagjewood yards, on Wednesday. Prices were much better for weaners. Mixed •weaners made 10b to 14s (id, iveanet steers 16s to 18s, 18-months heifers £1 7s to £1 10s, store cows £1 10s to £2 7s 6d, heifers in calf £2 5s to £2 14s, f.m. ewes 8s 6d, old ewes 2s 9d to 3s lOd.

AUCKLAND STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:— Horses.—On Friday, at the Durham yards, a good many horees were brought forward and disposed of. Heavy draughts sold at from £l9 15s to £3O. medium do. £l7 10s to £26, light harness horses £7 10s to £2O, ponies and hacks £5 6s to £lB. Ca'ttle.—At the Neiwmarket yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were penned in usual numbers. Beef was yarded in full quantities and bidding was brisk, prices improving on last week's quotations. Oxen sold to 21s iper 1001b and cows to 19s. Steers sold at from £5 10s to £lO 2s, cows £3 10s to £7. Dairy cows sold at from £1 Ss to £7, empty cows £2 2s to £3 gs, heifers £3 10s to £5 ss, calves 18s to £1 9b.

Shceipu—'The Xewmarktft yards were •well filled on Tuesday, and t'be sheep sold at late rates. Wethers sold at from. 9s Dd to ITs 3d 1 , ewes 8s 6d to 13a od, hoggete 'lo® 6(1 to 12s Od, lambs well fatted te Gd to 12s (id, other sorts 4s 9d to 7s 6d.

On Sa'turdav, at Waiuku, there was an average yarding of stock, which sold at late rates. Dairy cows sold at from • £3 15s to £6 2s (id, empty cows £2 10s, yearling heifers £llos to £2 13s, calves Vis fid- to £1 12a. Beet sold at Newmarket rates. We submitted average catalogues of hides, skins, and tallow ou Tuesday, all lines mectitng with good competition at 1 lato rates.

We quote: Extra stout ox 7d to 7%, stout do. fi'/.d to Til, medium do. 5%d to C'/id, light do. 5d to 5%d; cows', best lines 5%d to 5VS>d, good 5d to o'Ai, scored 4%d to 4%d, kips 4'/ a d to sMsd; calfskins 3d to 5%d, damaged hides 3d to 4'/id. Sheepskins. —Market firm. Best butchers' skins, large to as fid, good 4s to 4s 3d, small 2s -fid to 3s 3d, lambs' and pelts '2s fid to 3s, seconds Is !)d to 2s 2d. Tallow—Market finn. Best mixed to 25s Od, good 23s to 245, inferior lite to 21s 6d, rough fa't iVa& to l%d per lb.

CHRISTCHUBOH STOCK MARKET. •At the 'Addington live stock market on Wednesday there 'were again large entries of stock and a good attendance. Store sheep sold at about last Week's rates. Fat lambs were easier rn consequence of exporters laving reduced their i price limits by Vsd per lb. Prime taf shewed no change, but inferior and cowbeef were down about Is per 1001b. Pigs of all classes were easier. There -was an entry of between 400 ami 500 store sheep, mostly ewes. Young and sound-mouth again sold well. Aged and inferior sorts were neglected or only saleable at very low prices. Four aiid six-tooth ewes sold up to 10s lid, poorer lines of sound-mouth ewes 10s «d to 13s tid, fairly forward wethers UK 6di to lis 6d. The entry of fat lambs to'talled 5132. ' as against "about 8000 last week. On Ihe whole the yarding was of good quality. Export buyer* again reduced their "limits >/ s d per lb, and they are now 4%d up to 3tilb, 4'/ 2 d from 3(ilb to 4211>, 3%d for over 421b, and 4d for second quality. There were 4611 taken for freezing at lis to 13s 4d, a few eiftra. to 14s 4d; butchers took 319 at lis to 13s 9d, extra to 14s; 222 were passed in. ' In fat sheep, wethers sold at a further advance upon last week's rates of from od' to Is per head. Ewes showed little or no improvement. Prime wethers made 15a to 16s 9d, extra to 17s 10d. others 12s 2d to 14s fid; prime ewes Ila «d to 13b 7d, extra to 16s, others 7s 8d to 10s Bd. Eat Cattle.—369 penned, a good pTO- ■ portion being of a useful class. There was a larger number of cowb than last Week, and they, met with dull sale. Prices came down about Is per 1001b. Prime beef sold at about last week's rates. Steers made £7 2s 6d to £lO las. heifers £4 5s to £8 173 6d, cows £3 'lss 'to £6 15s—equal to 22s for prime, 18s fid' to 20s for medium, and los to 18s for cow and inferior per i 1001b. There was a small yarding of store cattle, mostly old cows. Fifteen and eighteen-months made 40s to 455, twovear heifers £2 os, three-year steers *£6 to £6 ss, dry colws 15s to £3 10s. Dairy cows were in good demand at £3 Ho' £lO 15s. Pigs of all classes were entered in fair numbers. Choppers sold up to £3 10s, large baeoners 52s fid to 57s 6d, lighter 42s Od to 50s (equal to 4d to 4'/jd per lb), porkers 33s to 40s (equal to 5d per lb), large stores 30s-to 375, medium 23s to 28s, and weaners lte fid to 18s fid.
