FOOTBALL.
THE WAIMATE CLfli. At the annual meeting of the above there were present about 23 members, Mr. A. U. Bennett in the chair. The report congratulated the club upon a successful year. The seniors won the cup, and the juniors won the southern end, but in the play-oil' the native members did "not roll up. The second juniors won a lot of matches, mostly at home, ami the committee were considering the advisableness of arranging to defray their coach fares, as many <>t them were unable to spare the out-of-pocket expenses, which no doubt was the cause of poor teams getting away. The committee was very disgusted with the selection of memlwrs for rep. honors, although at intervals four men wenpicked to represent l'arauaki. lamu presented the club in all the rep. matches.
The balance-sheet showed a credit _>« hand of C(il Lis, which was highly satisfactory.
'J'he following officers were elected: Patron, -Mr. Mi-Cnire; president, Mr. 'Bennett: vice-presidents Messrs. Donald McKcnzic. IJashford, John Young, Bolder, J. Mcnli. Thomas Taylor, and A. 11. Christie: delegates to I'nion, Messrs. J. Young and (I. Burke: management committees Messrs. Moll itt, Boui'ke and 11. Christie for the seniors, Mr. John Young for the juniors; selection committee, second juniors, .Messrs. Tom Taylor, Lusher, and the captain; secretary, .Mr. C. Allison; treasurer. Mr. 11. A. Wilson. A number of new members were elected. The annual subscription is to lie the same as last year, Us. The delegates were instructed to do their utmost to get a share of Okaiawa district if cut up; also to curtail llawera's district at this end. It was decided to pay the brake'fares of the. second juniors for the coming season. , , It was decided to put .CSO out of the ehb funds on lixed deposit at the bank for 1- months. Mr. Glenn was elected a life member.
INGLEWOOD CLUB. The annual meeting of the lnglewood United Football Club was held on Thursday evening, Mr. F. Spurdlc presiding over a moderate attnedanee. The year's working had resulted in a loss of about l'Ja.
Mr. I''. Thomson queried the item appearing on the expenditure side of the statement with reference to mciube's travelling expenses. He considered the practice a bad one and altogether wrong, and it should be abolished. .Mr. de Launav favored paying travelling expenses, and was of the opinion that as Ion" as the club could keep its head above water mid pay travelling expenses, it was not doing any harm. The election of officers resulted: Patron, H. O'Carroll (-e eleeted); president, Mr. F. Thomson; vice-presidents. Dr. Gault and Messrs. F. 11. Ilrou'u, 11. Thomson, \V. Matthews, .1. B.
