STEAMERS IN COLLISION.

THE STORM AND WAKATU. By Telegraph.—Preßa Association. Lyttelton, March 20. The small coastal steamers Storm and Wakatu collided last night off Motunau Island. The Storm was bound from Lyttelton to Wanganui, and the Wakatu was coming from Kaikoura to Lyttelton. The exact circumstances of the accident are not known. The vessels seem to have headed at one another, arid in an I attempt to get clear the Wakatu | struck the Storm's stern on the starboard side.

There is a gaping hole in the Wakatu'a bow, whilst the Storm had her side broken down above the deck. No serious damage was done. Uoth returned to Lyttelton.
