Mrs Farm submitted a. report upon the Old People*s Home for the period from February 15. to March 22. The totat number 01 adfluisaion* was thrc,% two males ami one female. There had been two departures. The discipline had been good with the exception of Wree inmates who had'been dealt with by the Chairman. The number of inmates' at the. time of writing was 31, 26 -males and 5 iemales.

Mrs: Farm was appointed manageress of the Old People's Home, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of her husband.

The question of appointing an extra assistant at the Home was left in the hands of tho House Committee. J. S\ Broun, assistant, asked for an increase in -wages, stating that his duties had increased considerably of late. It was decided to notify Brown that it is the intention of the Board to reconstruct the staiT and that they winnot see their wav to grant anv increase. HOSPITAL CHARGES. Minutes of the conference of the Hawcra. Stratford and New Plymouth Hospital Boards held at Stratford on February 215 la*t \vith reference to hospital charges were read. The Board passed a resolution on similar lines to that 01 the Hawcra Board as follows:—"That the concession allowed to the Friendly Societies at the late conference held at Stratford ibe adopted providing payment- U made within three months, also that a concession be allowed of Is; per day to pa-yras a>atient« who pav within one month.
