, "JANE." • The Waitara Thespian Society is to be complimented upon the finished manner in which the three-act farcical comedy " Jane " was staged at the Theatre Royal 3ast night. Although it was known that the' proceeds were in aid of the New [Plymouth Recreation Sports Ground the Vublic did not enthusiastically respond, .there being only a moderate attendance. The plot of the comedy has already appeared in these columns. The a'ethg iwas highly meritorious, each part being interpreted in a faithful manner. IThe piece abounds in ludicrous situations, and the audience were treated to many a good laugh. There was not an (uninteresting moment throughout the Jhree acts. The Waitara Thespians [would do credit to a much larger town, and should they pay New Plymouth a return visit the success which they attained on this occasion should ensure for them a good reception. The music as supplied by Mr. W. Perry's orchestra during the evening was much appreciated. At the conclusion of the performance those taking part were entertained at supper by the Sports Ground Committee.
