PARIS POSTAL STRIKE.
DRASTIC GOVERNMENT METHODS. Pariß, March 21. The French Chamber of Deputies supports the Government suppressing the postal and telegraphic strike. M. Barthou, Minister of Works, announced that lie gave the strikers 24 hours' time to ■consider their position. If at the end of •that time they had not returned to Work, the whole 8000 of them would be dismissed.

A large meeting of strikers afterwards unanimously rejected the committee's proposal to resume work, but there are signs of the collapse of the strike. The telegraphists arc gradually resuming, and the telephone and the pneumatic postal services in Paris are already working.
