ATTEMPT TO BLOW UP A MAGISTRATE. AN INEFFECTIVE ROMP. ! Received ltt, 10.7 'p.m. ; , Calcutta. March 10. A picric arid bomb was discovered fwithin a law book sent to Mr. Kings-i ford when he was Chief Magistrate at Calcutta. The bomb was so arranged, ilia* upon, cutting the string it would explode the' detonator. Mr. Kmgaford, who was the object of the Muzafferpore emotion m May 2, did not open thejbbok, believing it to be a book he had lent a. friend, until the springs rusted and rendered the explosives harmless. The bomb found in the Englishman office was obtained from a (iovernme'nt factory.
