ODDFELLOWSHIP.
The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Egmont Lodge was held last evening, Bro. R. A. Newton, N.G., presiding. There was a good attendance of members and visiting members. One member joined the Lodge by clearance, and four ladies (the first in the district) were duly initiated into the mysteries of Oddfel'lowsbip by P.G.M. Bro. W. J. Clelaiid, with l'.G. Bro. Goldwater and G.M. Bro. C. Bond as conductors. The sisters went through the trying ordeal in a worthy manner. The musical honors of the Order were duly conferred on the newly-initiated members. This is quite a new departure in tho history of Oddfellowship in Taranaki, although female lodges have been in existence in New Zealand for some time. P.I'.G.M. Ainsworth and McGahey and P.O. A. Hooker and their wives were appointed a committee to assist at the Oddfellows' picnic on Anniversary Day, March 31st.
